Our Story, Values, and Vision
Founded in 2025 by students Kavan Vyas and Carskey Chung, KCLMS FTC ASYMPTOTES represents King's College London Mathematics School's entry into competitive robotics.
Drawing from prior FTC experience and a passion for applied engineering, we're building a team that combines mathematical precision with hands-on innovation. Our name, ASYMPTOTES, reflects our continuous approach toward excellence—always striving, always improving, never quite reaching the limit because there's always more to achieve.
As a rookie team, we're not just competing—we're establishing a legacy of robotics at KCLMS that will inspire future generations of engineers and innovators.
The principles that guide everything we do
We push boundaries in robot design and strategy, constantly seeking creative solutions to complex challenges. Innovation isn't just about technology—it's a mindset.
Every role matters, every voice counts. From engineering to business, programming to operations, we succeed together through mutual respect and teamwork.
We bring a competitive spirit with continuous improvement. Excellence isn't perfection— it's the commitment to be better today than we were yesterday.
No experience required, only enthusiasm. We believe everyone has potential, and we're committed to making STEM accessible to all students regardless of background.
Through outreach, mentorship, and inspiration, we're building a community that extends beyond our team to impact the next generation of engineers.
Every challenge is an opportunity to learn. We embrace failures as stepping stones to success and celebrate the growth that comes from perseverance.
KCLMS excels in pure mathematics, and FTC allows us to apply that theoretical knowledge to real-world engineering challenges. It's where equations meet mechanisms.
Develop skills that universities and employers value: programming, CAD design, project management, technical communication, and collaborative problem-solving.
Represent KCLMS on the international robotics stage, competing against teams from around the world and showcasing our school's excellence.
Build friendships and networks that extend beyond school. FTC connects you with like-minded students, mentors, and professionals in STEM fields.
KCLMS FTC ASYMPTOTES isn't just about this season—it's about creating a permanent robotics pathway at our school. Each year, experienced students will train the next generation, building on what we've learned and achieved.
We're proving that everyone has a place in STEM, regardless of their background or prior experience. Together, we're building tomorrow's engineers today.
